Mar. 30, 2010, HomeATM is pleased to announce the appointment of Mitchell Cobrin as President and CEO.  Mitchell has been working with the company for 4+ years as COO and has a proven track record in secure payments and strategic business development.
Cobrin has developed  a 2 pronged approach for the company; “firstly, we will continue to work closely with the EFT networks to deliver our traditional model of home-based transactions.  We have made very good progress and have several networks on board.   Additionally, we are focusing on our agnostic mobile platform for ‘aCommerce’ ~ “anywhere commerce”.  The company delivers a full solution, complete with middleware and backend processing for any field based merchant such as taxis, MLM, food service delivery etc”.  Cobrin continued;  “HomeATM’s solution features a light and seamless interface for any PC, Mac,  tablet, iPad or mobile device (iPhone, Berry, Droid, Motorola, Samsung etc.) instantly resulting in the device becoming a certified POS system. The suite can also plug in to established middleware such as QuickBooks to leverage their merchant interface while offering secure card present (PIN debit or credit card) transactions.  The solution is substantially less expensive and more secure than any other offerings in this market segment.

At the end of April, the company will be launching a site where merchants can order products and processing services as well as complete bundled merchant solutions.  The site will feature the various PCI certified PIN entry devices, card readers and payment products.  Cobrin added; “the solution has already been well received by the ISO community who are eager to address the emerging market”.

About HomeATM
HomeATM is a global security and payment technology provider with a patented and proprietary suite of hardware and software services for secure online and mobile PIN debit and credit card transactions.  HomeATM’s agnostic “aCommerce” platform makes it ideal for eCommerce, mCommerce, P2P, retail line-busting as well as traditional field services such as food delivery or taxi services.  HomeATM’s PCI certified PIN entry device and bank grade secure end–to-end ecosystem provide greater security, reliability, convenience and return on investment for consumers, merchants, networks, issuers and acquirers.

After falling foul of regulators in India earlier this year, PayPal has been forced to suspend personal payments in Japan ahead of new rules set to come into play on 1 April.
In a blog, Kosuke Seto from PayPal's Japan team says that starting tomorrow, customers in Japan "will be unable to send personal payments to individuals using the PayPal "send money" service until further notice". Continues Seto: "The changes to our personal payment services are necessary in order for us to comply with new Japanese regulations that go into effect April 1st."  The new law requires firms to apply for a license to offer personal money transfer services.
